A native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Daniel J. Bowen is a pianist, arranger, composer for film/tv, and activist for the arts. He has composed orchestral arrangements for Grammy and Emmy winning producers, including projects for the NBA, NHL, TNT, ESPN, and Bravo. Daniel’s recent score for the feature documentary film, Zora Neale Hurston: Claiming a Space, is currently streaming on PBS.

A lover of orchestral music, Daniel launched Symphony 21 to fill the void in music education and access to performing arts in rural areas. His success with Symphony 21 gained the attention of The Kennedy Center, where he performed and give a lecture on the “Power of Music,” during the The REACH Opening Festival, presented by the National Symphony Orchestra.
